The presence of weeds in your lawn can be a major problem. Even if you take good care of your lawn, you’ll still experience a weed problem eventually.
Weeds are the main reason why your grass isn’t healthy. When your turf is invaded with weeds, they take a big portion of the nutrients that would otherwise be used to grow your grass.

Use Vinegar & Salt
Spraying vinegar is a cheap and effective way to get rid of weeds in your lawn. Just make sure you cover the grass before spraying since vinegar can also kill it. Also, use an atomizer with a long nozzle so you can target the weeds more precisely.
For best results, sprinkle some salt in the vinegar bottle. Use one cup of salt for every gallon of vinegar and mix them with one tbsp of liquid dish soap.
Cover the Weeds
One easy way to inhibit weed growth is to cover them all with newspapers. This blocks sunlight from reaching the weeds, which is necessary for their survival. Over time, the weeds will eventually die.
Moreover, make sure you use multiple layers of newspaper to ensure that sunlight is blocked completely. You can also use a thick blanket or even an old shower curtain.
Whatever it is that you choose to obscure the weeds with, cover it with mulch. Mulch is an excellent weed suppressor that prevents sunlight from reaching weed seeds.
Pour Boiling Water
Pouring boiling water is a great way to get rid of weeds in your lawns, but it only works for freshly sprouting weeds. Make sure you use protective gloves to keep your hands safe and reapply boiling water when necessary.
Pull the Weeds
This may sound like a naive method, but pulling the weeds with your bare hands might just be what you need to do to get rid of the weeds in your lawn for good. However, since this technique can be exhausting and time-consuming, keep it as a last resort when everything else fails.
Corn Gluten Meal
Corn gluten meal is very effective at stopping weeds from growing. It kills the seeds themselves, which prevents growth. Just make sure your desired plants have fully grown before using it.

Remember, not all of these tips will work for everyone. It all depends on the climate and how bad the problem is. Most of the time, you can easily get rid of the weeds by using a combination of 2 or 3 of the techniques that we’ve talked about.
